What is blocking my psychic abilities?

I am often asked for help in unblocking psychic abilities. What I have found is the inability to develop and sharpen intuition and psychic skills can often be traced back to a set of limiting beliefs. These beliefs, while they may seem protective or rational, can actually hinder our spiritual and intuitive growth. Here's a list of possible beliefs that could be behind this inability, how they might be serving us, and ways to shift these beliefs:

Intuition and psychic abilities are not real, they are only superstition.

This belief is keeping us grounded in the material world and helps us to avoid ridicule or judgment from others. To shift this belief, embrace the subtle nature of consciousness and explore historical and contemporary accounts of intuition and psychic phenomena. Practice openness to experiences beyond the physical senses.

Only special or "chosen" people have these abilities.

This belief excuses us from the effort of developing our own skills and protecting us from potential failure. Recognize that everyone has the potential for intuitive and psychic development. Begin with small practices like mindfulness and trust that abilities will grow with time and dedication.

It's dangerous to open up to psychic abilities, you might attract negative energies.

This belief preserves a sense of safety and control. You can shift this belief by learning protective energy work and grounding techniques to create a safe space for exploration. Understand that with proper intention and guidance, developing these skills can be a positive and empowering experience.

Rational thought and logic are superior to intuition.

This belief aligns us with societal values that prioritize intellect over inner knowing. To shift this beleif, integrate intuition with rationality by acknowledging the value of both. Practice trusting your gut feelings in small decisions and reflect on the outcomes to build confidence in your intuitive sense.

I'm not spiritually advanced enough to have intuition or psychic skills.

This belief helps us by setting a high bar for spiritual achievement that excuses us from trying. Understand that spiritual development is a journey, not a destination. Engage in practices that foster self-awareness and spiritual growth, such as meditation or yoga, to naturally enhance your intuitive abilities.

Developing these skills requires too much time and effort.

This belief serves us by allowing us to prioritize other aspects of life that feel more immediate or practical. Start with small, manageable practices that can be incorporated into daily life. Recognize that even brief moments of introspection and mindfulness can contribute to the growth of intuition and psychic skills.

If I open up to my intuition, I might discover something about myself or my life that I don't want to face.

This belief protects us from potentially uncomfortable truths. Embrace the idea that self-discovery leads to personal growth and empowerment. Approach your intuitive development with a sense of curiosity and courage, knowing that it can lead to a more authentic and fulfilling life. Trust that you have the strength to face whatever comes and that the knowledge gained will serve your highest good.

My past experiences define my potential for growth and change.

This belief provides a stable sense of identity. To shift it, recognize that you are not bound by your past. Each moment offers a new opportunity for growth. By freeing yourself from the attachment to past identities, you can tap into the potential that lies within. Engage in practices that help you let go of old narratives and embrace the present reality with openness.

I must have certainty and control over my life to be secure.

This belief helps us to create an illusion of stability and predictability. Shift it by embracing the fluidity of life and the power of embracing uncertainty. Trusting your inner guidance can lead to greater vitality and the courage to take risks that align with your soul's purpose. Let go of the need for external validation and find security in your intuitive knowing.

I need to adopt spiritual beliefs from external sources to be enlightened.

This belief gives us a framework to operate within and a sense of belonging to a group. to shift this belief, forge your own spiritual path based on inner truth and lived experience. Question received knowledge and the agendas behind established belief systems. Develop a personal philosophy that resonates with your innermost being and honors your unique journey.

Skepticism is an intelligent response to the world.

The idea of ‘healthy skepticism’ protects us from disappointment and deception. Recognize that skepticism is just holding on to a set of beliefs, and an open heart and mind are essential for spiritual growth. Cultivate discernment without closing off to the magic and mystery of life. Allow yourself to believe in the unseen and the power of the soul, because this is where true wisdom lies.

By examining and shifting these beliefs, you create space for your intuition and psychic abilities to grow. Remember, you are a being of immense potential, and your journey towards spiritual awakening is uniquely yours. Trust in the magic that begins to flow as you align with your Higher Self, and let the invisible chains of limiting beliefs dissolve into light.
